Physical therapy is the science of medicine that seeks to return patients to the highest possible degree of personal physical independence. We work with patients with specific neurological, muscular, and skeletal conditions and provide prevention programs to assist people of all ages in maintaining optimal health and physical fitness. All patients receive an extensive evaluation from our doctors and with that information we provide a treatment program designed to correct a patient's physical deficiencies. Highly individualized treatment programs are created for each patient. These care plans are designed to relieve pain, as well as restore function and athletic performance, and promote healing and recovery. After evaluation, the patient is treated through various forms of exercise techniques to improve flexibility and motion, promote strength, and endurance. Physical therapy and exercise are not just for recovering from disability, but reaching optimum health and athletic performance, as well as protecting yourself from injury in work and sports activities.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy, often abbreviated OT, is the "use of productive or creative activity in the treatment or rehabilitation of physically or emotionally disabled people". A more technical definition is that OT is the use of meaningful occupation to assist people who have difficulty in achieving a healthy and balanced lifestyle and to enable an inclusive society so that all people can participate to their potential in daily occupations of life. Occupational therapists work with a variety of individuals who have difficulty accessing or performing meaningful occupations.
Most commonly, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants work with people with disabilities to enable them to maximize their skills and abilities. occupational therapy gives people the "skills for the job of living" necessary for "living life to its fullest."Services typically include:
- Customized intervention programs to improve one's ability to perform daily activities.
